Brooklyn’s Widowspeak has been steadily putting out great dreamy indie rock records since forming in 2010, acting as one of the key artists on Captured Tacks records. A perfect band for the changing colors of autumn, Widowspeak opens the month up at Meow Wolf.

Clearance

Often compared to alt rock legends Pavement, Chicago’s Clearance opens for Widowspeak providing a good reason to get to the venue early.

This is going to be a really special one. Shenandoah Davis is a mega-talented singer-songwriter who should really be playing a much bigger room, but folks in Santa Fe will get to catch her in the very intimate Zephyr. This is not to be missed.

Landlady • Chicharra • Ian Chang

October 19 @ 7:30 pm

Second Street Brewery – Rufina2920 Rufina Street
Santa Fe, NM 87507 United States
$10 adv / $12 doors

Landlady

Imagine 70s Randy Newman completely shifting gears and starting a proggy psych band. That’s what Landlady sounds like to me. Led by the brilliant Adam Schatz, the Brooklyn band is as fun and witty as they are unpredictable and skilled in their compositions.

Chicharra

One of Albuquerque’s most badass bands, Chicharra will be celebrating the release of their new album Let’s Paint This Town In Craters (being released 10/20 via Matron Records). Utilizing a triple bass, two drum attack in unison with sultry vocals from the three ladies, Chicharra is a powerful force that everyone should be paying attention to.

Ian Chang

Ian Chang was already one of the most creative and talented percussionists around before the arrival of Sunhouse Sensory Percussion. As one of very first drummers using and embracing the new technology, Chang has further set himself apart as one of the innovators redefining drumming. But it’s not just about innovation with Chang, he’s simply a joy to listen to.

Since his early days with bands Chisel and Citizens Arrest, Ted Leo has shown a profound knack for melody. An American update on the sound of British punks like The Jam and Undertones, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists have been going strong since 1999, and show no signs of letting up after releasing their first album in 7 years, The Hanged Man.
