A pair of acts from Minnesota came to town on Thursday night for what has become a rare quality show at the Skylight. With an early start time, Night Moves was the first to take the stage. The quintet (who may or may not be named after Bob Seger album), primarily playing tunes from this year’s Pennied Days, evoked chill 70s Todd Rundgren vibes.

Headliner Haley Bonar followed, starting off strong with Impossible Dream opener “Hometown,” and then never letting up as she and her band churned out gem after gem from her latest album. While their more energetic songs were obvious highlights, the ballad “Jealous Girls” may have been the finest moment of the set.
