While this week’s releases may be lacking in big names, there’s a lot to be excited about. Santa Fe’s own Lone Piñon’s Trio Nuevomexicano is a marvelous debut. I’ve been constantly listening to an advance of XIXA’s Bloodline, which features members of Calexico and Giant Sand making their own unique brand of psychedelic desert cumbia. Santigold is back with an infectious intergalactic pop record. And there’s a hell of a lot more to be excited about.
