One-time member of the now defunct Motel Motel, Erik Gundel is a remarkable guitar player who draws influence from the legendary John Fahey and James Blackshaw. But Gundel’s influences are far more eclectic than a couple master acoustic guitar players. It also ranges to the likes of Timbaland, Miles Davis, and Fennesz. His songs can be simultaneously tense and relaxing, often weaving a hypnotic net around the listener. Bouncing back and forth between acoustic and electronic recordings, he thrives in both realms.

In 2012, Erik Gundel was more productive than ever, releasing a full length (A Home To Keep You) along with multiple non-album singles and remixes.
